We started this site to document and spread the Love we have for Vintage Trailers. Take a look around at at our current and completed restorations.
This is our story
It all started in September 2004 when the first symptoms of Vintage Traileritis appeared after we "WON" a vintage trailer on ebay. At first the fever was mild but was fed by other trailerites telling us we had to get our trailer restored and attend the Tin Can Tourists "Annual Gathering" the following spring.
The symptoms progressed from there and included endless hours of searching through junkyards for vintage trailer parts and working on the trailer restoration night and day. Over the winter the vintage traileritis bug quickly spread and another trailer was purchased and then several more after that.
The bug is so invasive that is has spread to the basement of our home. We now have an "Observation Lounge" bar and a covered Wagon playroom and even a custom Spartan Cap for our truck.
We have since learned there is no known medication for this condition and the possibility of remission is very remote. So, now we celebrate the fever with fellow trailerites in the US and Canada and commiserate on the possibility of a cure. But until then, we are all having fun camping in Vintage Trailer Style.
